The Ottawa Blind Curling Club is a non-profit organization supported through memberships, community and corporate sponsorships and donations. The club's mandate is to provide blind and visually impaired adults an environment where they can fully participate in the sport of curling.
The Ottawa Blind Curling Club's home base is the City View Curling Club located at 50 Capilano Drive in Nepean. It is right next to the Grace O'Malley Pup near Merivale Road.
Depending on where you live and from what part of Ottawa you come from, the best way is to take the OC Transpo bus number 80 that runs along Merivale Road. It starts at Tunney's Pasture Transit Station and follows Holland till Carling then it goes up merivale Road. The curling club is about one block past the old CJOH location.
We curl every Wednesday at 5:00 pm. Our curling season begins in October and ends in April. Excluding tournaments and bonspiels, we curl approximately 25 games per year. Refer to our schedule for details about dates.
The Ottawa Blind Curling Club is always looking out for new members. You can join any time or just come and try out without obligation to see if curling is what you would like to do. The membership fee is $175.00 per year and new members pay only half price the first year. In this way you can try curling for free for three months before you make up your mind.
